Saudi Arabia – GEPLEADER, a leading Chinese manufacturer of intelligent power generation equipment, has successfully delivered power logistics support for the construction of Saudi Arabia's QASSIM 2 1980MW CCGT Independent Power Project. By deploying efficient, low-noise generator sets, GEPLEADER ensured a stable and clean power supply for continuous construction work, strongly supporting the progress of this key energy project under Saudi Vision 2030.
The QASSIM 2 project is one of Saudi Arabia's largest and most advanced combined cycle power plants, with a total installed capacity of 1,980 MW and China Energy International Group as the EPC contractor. The construction site is located in the desert interior, with summer temperatures often exceeding 50°C, and close to residential and ecologically sensitive areas, imposing strict requirements on noise control and power supply continuity.
During the critical peak construction phase, GEPLEADER's power supply system successfully handled fluctuating loads and maintained a "zero failure" record. Notably, thanks to the stable and reliable power support, the EPC contractor completed the first turbine foundation concrete pour – a landmark milestone – ahead of schedule, gaining valuable time for subsequent equipment installation.
The Overseas Business Director of GEPLEADER commented: "The QASSIM 2 project represents the advanced level of global combined cycle power plants. Our low-noise, highly adaptable power solutions have withstood harsh conditions and helped our customer achieve accelerated progress. Going forward, we will continue to provide customized power support for complex engineering projects worldwide through innovation and service."
This practice not only highlights GEPLEADER's technical capability to ensure continuous power supply in extreme environments but also further strengthens the positive reputation of Chinese enterprises in supporting high-end international power engineering projects.
