Malaysia Hospital Backup Power Upgrade

Release time:

2026-04-23

A private general hospital in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. The hospital's old generator experienced multiple prolonged power outages during the previous rainy season. The hospital decided to replace the entire emergency power system.

Challenges

Medical zero tolerance: Life-support systems such as operating rooms, ICU, and ventilators have zero tolerance for power interruptions, requiring ATS transfer time of less than 10 seconds.

Strict noise restrictions: Residential areas are within 30 meters of the hospital. Local regulations require daytime noise ≤78 dB(A) and nighttime noise ≤68 dB(A), which conventional open-frame generator sets cannot meet.

Tropical climate demands: High temperatures (32–38°C), high humidity (80–95%), and frequent thunderstorms year-round. Equipment requires a high protection rating and an optimized cooling system.

Solution

GEPLEADER provided the GEPE500C silent diesel generator set (500kW | 625kVA) to address the hospital's current needs.

Key technical features

Multi-layer suspended sound-absorbing structure: Overall noise level controlled at 78 dB(A), complying with municipal noise regulations.

Inclined guided air intake structure: Enhances heat dissipation efficiency, adaptable to ambient temperatures up to 55°C.

IP43-rated control cabinet: Dustproof and waterproof, suitable for tropical rainy seasons.
